Recently, China's ministry of education announced the results of the approval of Sino-foreign joint-education projects in the first half of 2017, in which Lanzhou University and Drexel University Joint Education Project on the major of computer science and technology is approved.

Drexel University is founded in 1891 and is a leading four-year private university in the United States. Drexel University is located in Philadelphia, the largest city on the east coast of the United States. Drexel University is known as one of the 'Four Famous Universities in Philadelphia.' In order to promote the 'double first-class' construction and improve the level of teaching staff of Lanzhou University, Lanzhou University and Drexel University have negotiated and communicated through various forms such as video conferences, e-mails and personnel exchanges. Both parts have reached an agreement on the major, school-running models and training programs, and sent the project application to the Ministry of Education at the end of April this year. The project will be included in the national unified enrollment plan for 4 years.
