Dr. Bin Hu, Professor, Laureate of the National Recruitment Programme of Global Experts; National Senior Expert; Chief Professor of the National Crucial Fundamental Research Development Programme; Laureate of the Special allowance of the State Council; Member of the Gansu Provincial Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Laureate of Leading Talents in Gansu Province; IET Fellow; Guest Professor of the Department of Computer Science, ETH Zurich; Chair of TC Computational Psychophysiology, IEEE SMC; Vice Director of China Computer Federation Task Force on Big Data; Member of the Ministry of Education Teaching Steering Committee in Computer Science; Review Expert of Computer Science, Ministry of Information Science, National Natural Science Foundation of China; Vice-Chair of International Society of Neuroscience China; ACM China Branch Executive Director; Visiting Fellow of the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligent Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He has published more than 200 research articles in prestigious international journals and conferences including Science(suppl.), Human Brain Mapping, Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, Scientific Reports, IEEE Journals and Transactions and AAAI, UbiComp and WWW, as well as 3 book chapters. He has served as Chairs/Co-Chairs in 60 International Conferences including Brain Informatics, CSCW and UbiComp, and given keynotes and invited talks in over 60 international conferences and renowned universities. He is the Guest Editor of Science Special Issue Advances in Computational Psychophysiology, Editor of IEEE Trans. Affective Computing, IEEE Trans. Computational Social Systems, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing and Brain Informatics, etc.
His research interests include Psycho-physiological computing, Pervasive Computing, Cooperative Work and Semantic Web. He has been the PI of multiple scientific funding projects in EU, UK and China, including:UK Higher Education Research Fund 'Mobile Platform based Bio-Sensing Technology', EU FP7 Programme 'Online Pervasive Treatment in Mental Illness (OPTIMI)', National Crucial Fundamental Research Development Programme 'Bio- and Psychological Multimodal Information based Depressive Risk Prediction and Bio-Sensing Technology', National Natural Science Foundation Major International Cooperation Project 'Bio-feedback based Pervasive Mental Health Intervention', National Natural Science Foundation of China and Ministry of Science and Technology International Cooperation projects. He is also a member of National Crucial Fundamental Research Development Programme 'Change Law of Astronauts' Long-term In-orbit Flight Cognitive Ability' and projects funded of Ministry of Technology and Bureau of Foreign Experts.
